Springbank Academy is a member of The White Hills Park Trust, and complies with the School Admissions Code and the School Admissions Appeals Code. Nursery Places
We provide a safe, happy, stimulating, and friendly environment for children to feel part of our Springbank family and to give them the best possible start to their Nursery experience. We encourage children to become confident, independent learners, who are curious and ready to investigate the world around them.
Our session times are:
- Morning 8.30-11.30
- Afternoon 12.30-3.30
- 30-hour childcare 8.30-3.30 (an extra payment for extended provision is required to cover lunch time)

Also, below, is the parent declaration form that will need to be completed if you are eligible to receive 30 hours funding. Please complete this and send it back to us along with your application form if you think you meet the criteria. Help with Childcare
Every child is eligible for free Nursery education from the term immediately after their 3rd birthday. Government funding provides a maximum of 15 hours per child, which can be offered during term time only. Some parents are eligible for 30 hours free childcare; you can check your eligibility and find more information using the links below:
15 Hour Childcare
All parents of children aged 3 to 4 years are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare or early education per week for 38 weeks of the year, totalling up to 570 hours annually. You do not have to apply for this funding as you will automatically receive this funding when your child joins our nursery.
30 Hours Free Childcare
Eligible working families can access up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week.
To qualify:
- Each parent must earn a minimum equivalent to 16 hours a week at the national minimum wage.
- Earnings will be under £100,000 adjusted net income/year.

First Admission to school
Important dates to remember if your child is starting school for the first time (reception) in – September 2024 (children who are 5 years old between 01 September 2024 and 31 August 2025)

Standard reception year admission over subscription criteria for community and voluntary controlled schools
In the event of over subscription, the following criteria will be applied, in priority order, to decide which applications will be granted once places have first been allocated to pupils who have either an education, health and care plan or a statement of special educational needs which names the school:
1. Looked after children and previously looked after children, including those children who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. Children who live in the catchment area at the closing date for applications and who, at the time of admission, will have a brother or sister attending the school or the linked junior/primary school and children who do not live in the catchment area at the closing date for application and who, at the time of admission will have a brother or sister attending the school or the linked junior/primary school who was displaced as their Nottinghamshire community catchment area school was oversubscribed at the national offer day for first admission to school.
3. Other children who live in the catchment area at the closing date for applications.
4. Children who live outside the catchment area who, at the time of admission, will have a brother or sister attending the school or the linked junior/primary school.
5. Children who live outside the catchment area.

How to apply
