Welcome

Welcome to Springbank Academy and Nursery, our website is designed to introduce you to our remarkable Springbank community. Visitors often comment on the special atmosphere they find here. It is a friendly and welcoming place where pupils feel secure and supported – the perfect environment for learning. We encourage all our children to think creatively, set themselves high standards and to work hard to achieve their full potential.

Our school is at the heart of the community in Eastwood. We welcome participation by parents and carers in all aspects of school life and we look forward to working in participation with you. No one knows your child better than you, and for this reason we very much value your

co-operation.

At Springbank Academy we strive to maintain consistently high standards and to nurture talents and strengths so that every child can achieve success. We work to develop an excitement and enthusiasm for learning which we hope the children will take with them through their lifetime. We strive to make the world a richer place by promoting high standards of behaviour and learning.

Our school motto, ‘Where dreams are realised and success is celebrated’ encapsulates our approach and the belief and value we place in every single one of our children.

If you would like to find out more, I would be delighted to show you around so that you can see the school in action. Please contact the office to make an appointment – I look forward to seeing you.

Dear Parents/Carers,

It's lovely to be back and I hope you had a restful and enjoyable time with your children during the Easter break. It was a pleasure to catch a couple of days of sunshine, although it seems the rain is joining us as I write this letter!

As we embark on the summer term, there are some important dates and events approaching, particularly for our Year 6 students. The SATs exams will take place during the week of Monday 13th May. These tests are a significant milestone for our Year 6 pupils as they showcase their learning achievements and progress throughout the academic year.

In preparation for the SATs, I recommend encouraging your child to maintain a consistent study routine at home. This can include weekly homework study, completing practice questions, and ensuring they get plenty of rest and a healthy breakfast on exam days. Creating a calm and supportive environment at home will help alleviate any stress or anxiety your child may feel about the tests.

Additionally, please ensure your child attends school regularly and punctually during this period to benefit from our weekly tutoring sessions and support provided by our dedicated staff. It's essential that they feel supported both at home and in school as they approach this challenging time. Please see below the dates for the tutoring sessions that we have left before the SAT’s Test.

Tuesday 16th April – 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Wednesday 17th April – 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Tuesday 23rd April – 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Wednesday 24th April – 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Tuesday 30th April – 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Wednesday 1st May – 3.15pm – 4.15pm

If you have any concerns or questions regarding the SATs or your child's preparation, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs Clarke or Mr Waller to discuss with them further. Together, we can work towards ensuring that our Year 6 students feel confident and well-prepared for these assessments.

I would like to draw your attention to the deadline for returning reply slips for the family holiday to Skegness. Please ensure that these slips are handed in to the school office by this Friday, 19th April. This will enable us to make the necessary arrangements, including booking coaches and providing you with the costing per person for the journey. Should we not receive enough responses to fill a coach, regrettably, we will have to cancel the trip. In such an event, rest assured that all children will still have a fun-filled 'water day' here at school. More information will be sent out to parents/carers nearer the date.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Let's make this summer term a successful and memorable one for our pupils.

With Warm Wishes,

Adam Lumley
